26/365 The Storm Clouds Before The Storm

Today we bid farewell to a co-worker who’s last day with our department was today.  We went to this Mexican restaurant called Abuelo’s.  What a beautifully designed restaurant.  Although we enjoyed the food and the conversation, everyone’s mind was on the hurricane that was inching closer to our area.  There was an enormous sense of juxtaposition between the serene, tranquil atmosphere within the confines of the restaurant, and the scene that greeted us as we departed.

This mirror framed by the sun is mounted on the ceiling, just inside the main door of the restaurant.  I took this as we left.

An ominous sky.  Although it looked like rain was imminent, the flood gates would hold for several hours  as hurricane Irene inched ever closer.
